January 2015 Goal

 Wednesday, January 7, 2015

In years past, I have had a very hard time keeping up with things like this, but this year, I am taking a more laid back approach.  I will be making my goals a little bit smaller, so they are more achievable.

Over the past summer, my sister shared that she was pregnant with her first child.  To say that the family was excited was an understatement!  Around Halloween, she found out she was having a girl.

She decided on this kind of funky chevron quilt, which I have drawn out.  She saw a picture of it on pinterest but there was no link to a pattern or anything like that, so I drew it up on graph paper and am just going to roll with it.  This is the first time that I have ever done this!  Hopefully it turns out.

She chose the following fabrics:

Aren't they pretty together.  My sisters and I are hosting a baby shower for her on February 28, 2015.  I would like to have this quilt completed by then.  So the plan for this month is to sew up 48 half square triangles.  I just can't wait to see how this project comes together.

Happy Quilting!

So lovely, soft and modern... lucky baby and lucky sister. Your blog is likewise pretty and fresh. Good idea to keep the goals reasonable. And isn't it so fun to start a new project? My favorite thing! Happy Creating.

Good for you drawing out the quilt. That's the way I work out designs too. LOVE the colors. I just finished twin quilts in those colors. Your sister will really love the quilt.

That's going to be a beautiful quilt! I'm sure you've seen the dozens of tutorials on how to cut & sew lots of HST blocks at the same time so that should come together pretty quickly for you. What a lucky baby! I'm sure your sister is going to be over the moon with your gift!
